SQ-Flex AC/DC Submersible Pumps

Grundfos SQ-Flex submersible water pumps are part of an amazingly versatile system that can provide reliable water delivery from multiple power sources: AC (utility or generator), DC (battery power), or PV direct (solar panels). The SQ-Flex operates over a wide range of AC or DC voltages, making it suitable for use with nearly any power source. This pump is commonly used for watering livestock in remote locations, but is suitable for residential water wells when its unusual versatility is beneficial to the particular need.

SQ-Flex pumps are available in a broad range of pressure/flow combinations to meet the requirements of both low-yield wells and high volume irrigation projects. 4" diameter pumps use centrifugal pump technology for high volume, while the 3" pumps incorporate a positive-displacement helical rotor design for low flow and high pressure. A variety of pump control modules are used in various combinations depending on the requirements of the installation.

There are several control interfaces available for use with SQ-Flex pumps. These controls are used singly or in combination, depending on the needs of the installation:

CU200 maintains 2-way communication with the pump and provides status and fault indicators, and displays power usage. The CU200 is necessary if you want to interface with a float switch or remote on/off switch. This is the control box commonly used for PV-direct applications.

IO101 is an interface unit that allows connection of a 115-volt AC power source to the pump. The IO101 automatically switches to AC power (if present), then back to DC power source when the AC power isn't available.

IO100 is a simple control box with a manual on/off switch and connection points for the pump and incoming power source.
