Grundfos SQ Flex submersible pumps offer the ultimate in power source flexibility. This means that the pump will operate from any AC voltage from 90 to 240, 50-60Hz, or DC power from 30 to 300 volts. The SQ Flex can pump water using wind power, solar array, generator power, grid
power, inverter power, battery backup, or any combination of the above.
An included sensor protects the pump from running dry.
Water can be delivered at heads up to 500 feet. Grundfos is

Grundfos SQ series submersible pumps are the Grundfos alternative to conventional AC powered submersibles. They feature "soft start" which means that the motor starts gradually, with no power surge. This means that they work successfully with smaller inverters and generators, compared to a conventional pump. The model I offer is a good "middle of the road" model that works well in a variety of common situations.
The SQ07B-320 is a 3/4 horsepower, 240 volt AC pump that delivers 1 gpm @ 450' head (195 psi), or up to 8 gpm @ 125' head (55 psi). As a practical maximum, it is an effective choice for delivering 1 gallon-per-minute from a 300 foot lift (water level to point of delivery) into a pressure tank set at 30/50 psi. This would be an ideal setup with a deep well that has very low yield, but the largest possible pressure tank should be used.
As another example, it will deliver 5 gpm into a 30/50 pressure tank at 210 feet of head. This would be a fairly typical medium depth well, delivering enough flow for average use such as light lawn irrigation and household needs. This pump should run well from a pair of stacked inverters or a medium/large inverter with 240 volt output, or by using a 120/240 transformer. It would also be a good choice if you need to power it with a smaller AC generator, because of the soft start feature.
