Why the E-Z RED? Conventional glass hydrometers are fragile, cumbersome and often difficult to read reliably, particularly under the poor lighting conditions that are often present in the battery room. While the more expensive glass models have an internal thermometer and temperature compensation chart, this is a confusing process for many users. Finally, as inferior quality imported products become more and more common, even brands that you trust may be selling you cheap products under their brand name.

The E-Z RED is a compact, nearly unbreakable instrument, made in the USA. By design, it is self-compensating. So the specific gravity can be read directly from the scale without using a temperature compensation chart and thermometer. The pointer and scale are clearly marked and easy to read in most lighting conditions.
